About Queens West
Queens West Development Corporation (QWDC) is a cooperative undertaking of
the State of New York and the Port Authority of NY & NJ. QWDC was created to
remediate and redevelop 74 acres of former industrial waterfront property along
the East River into a new waterfront community. QWDC is a subsidiary of the
Empire State Development Corporation, and is governed by a board of directors
comprised of representatives of the State and the Port Authority.
The Queens West project is located in Long Island City, Queens, directly across
the East River from the United Nations. Project boundaries extend from Anable
Basin to 50th Avenue, west of 5th Street.
